Welcome!
The art of teaching is the art of assisting discovery.
-Mark Van Doren
My name is Kristen Marasheski and this is my 9th year as an Archdiocesan Catholic School teacher. In addition to teaching first grade, I also previously taught second grade for 4 years at Holy Cross Catholic School in Philadelphia, PA. I graduated from Holy Family University with a dual bachelor's degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education. I am state certified to teach grades PreK-6th. I am fascinated with the way young children learn, grasp concepts, and interact socially with one another. I use a plethora of teaching techniques through out the day to aid in each child's individual learning style. I am strong advocate of incorporating the catholic faith within all areas of the curriculum every day. I also enjoy fostering the knowledge the children acquire throughout the day as well as acting as a guide to help them mature into responsible citizens of the 21st century.
First grade is a very exciting year. The material that is covered in First Grade is, essentially, the building blocks upon which almost all future education has to be built. The students will develop a highly visible progress in Reading and Language Arts. They will also discover and explore in-depth math concepts through out the year.
I look forward to working with you to ensure that your child has a memorable and successful year!
